Save Money on Groceries

Ibotta Wins! I’ve spent the last 6 weeks plugging my groceries into Ibotta, Check Out 51 and Receipt Hog to see which one would give me the best cash back.  Ibotta has more option and came with a $10 sign up bonus. My total for Ibotta is $30.74 which is way higher than what I would have gotten from Check out 51, ~$6.  Receipt Hog is a different beast. I have 527 coins and I need 1,000 coins to receive a $5 gift card from Amazon. Receipt Hog has you take pictures of all of your receipts which then puts you in drawings to receive more coins or more “slot machine pulls.”  The gambling tendency in me likes that part but it’s coming down to time.  I don’t want to waste my time for no financial rewards.

If you typically buy name brand items you would reap a ton more benefits from this App. It gets to know what you by then lists products that you would most likely buy.  I’m currently on a health kick and we have been buying very few processed foods so I didn’t get as much money back.  Best I can say is try it out for one month and see if it makes you money.  It takes a few extra minutes while groceries shopping (or be a hero and plan before you go to the store) and then you take a quick picture of the receipt before you leave the parking lot. I would say adds an extra 5-10 minutes per trip.

So at the end of the day, I’m sticking with Ibotta and cashing in. Click here to give it a try.
